My weekend drama

The weekend wasn't really filled with drama. The end of the week was. Thursday I blogged that I wasn't feeling well. Friday, after E left for work, I ended up passing out. oops. The OB rushed me into a neurologist. The neurologist thinks my migraines are progressing and that sometimes pressure on the brain will make you pass out. gee, lovely. They are scanning my brain in the morning. I do think it will be somewhat cool because they will scan my whole body once. So you will be able to see all of me, my bones etc, with my little girl tucked inside my belly. Don't you think that will be cool? Oh, and it is an MRI so no radiation. MRI = Magnetic Resonance Imaging. A big giant magnet. And NO radioactive dye. They'll probably run me through that thing again with dye after baby girl is here. We'll see.

Saturday E went to friends and I babysat during the day. Then came home, worked on painting the nursery and cleaned and took a nap and just kinda lazied around.

Sunday we went to BabysRExpensive and registered. :) That was kinda fun. Oh, and we went and visited a friend, E bought a table saw (talk about a kid in a toy store) and we came home. I worked on more painting in the nursery and I cleaned the upstairs thoroughly and worked on laundry. Man I seriously feel like I work 16 hour days, plus do side jobs.

Next up... worker rant, but I'll have to fill my belly first.

Pottery Barn Kids is about to feel the full wrath of a ticked off pregnant woman. Urgh.

bleh

I have some stuff I want to tell you guys, but I'm really tired, and just not feeling "right" this evening. I don't know whats up. My neck hurts and I almost passed out at work today. I was talking to someone and all of a sudden the room started spinning, I got lightheaded, and they said I turned very very pale. And my leg is numb. Baby must be laying on a nerve or something. I promise to write tomorrow.

The Three Little Pigs

Remember me talking about my cousin who is having triplets? Well, she had another ultrasound on Tuesday. Baby A is 2.3 pounds, Baby B is 2.5, and Baby C a whopping 2.6! She will be 30 weeks tomorrow. All three were head down but Baby B seemed to wiggle out and is laying across the other twos feet. Little stinker! I told her that he was probably getting really squished! We are hoping she makes it at least another 2 weeks. 32 weeks is what they hope for with triplets. If she makes it to 34 weeks, she'll have another scan for growth and position. Yay! She has already had a shot of steroids to speed up lung development and is already 1 cm dilated. I'm thinking 32 weeks is all she will make it.

death becomes him

Wow, this blog makes me want to cry.

Issues...

Is it just me or does anyone else have major issues with people who bathe in perfume?

Calling all librarians!

I'm looking for carseats now. I want to be able to put the portable hand carry do dad (ya know 5 to 20 lb one) and the big one on my registry in hopes that we'll have a big turnout! So where do I start researching for the best ones? I know someone out there has to know. **mumbles Jennifer** :) (she seems to know just about everything :)

She's got a way...

For all of the impatient people out there, **cough** Rachel **cough**, it appears that this baby may just be a girl. Or it could be a boy. They weren't 100% sure. She/he had their legs squished together. But when you looked at the butt shot like Shanas there wasn't anything in between the legs. Dr. said that she'll make up a reason to have another ultrasound in a few weeks. :)

I was happy to know that the spine is very much closed, the intestines are INSIDE the body and she has really really really long legs, just like her 6'4" daddy. :) I am going to call her her. Looks like a .... Ha! You thought I was going to say her name huh? :) Maybe I will in a few weeks. It's such a beautiful name, right Rachel? ;) So lets' call her a girl, though I won't stock up on pink. I'm not the hugest fan of pink anyways. I think I'll paint the room the same green as the kitchen cabinets. That would go for boy and girl, yes?

Can you see me now?

Ultrasound is today! whoopee! I feel like it's the first day of school or something. I couldn't sleep. Bad dreams. This seems to be a regular thing lately. I just want everything to be alright. Why on Earth didn't I schedule an 8am appointment? heh. I'm going to go lie down and eat and then get dressed and ready then do something around the house to kill time until 9. At 9, mom will be here (E has to go to school. boo.) and we'll go buy a VHS tape to take with us. Then head off and away to the OB. Send me healthy baby with open legs vibes! :)

Oops

I said I would post yesterday and I didn't. Sorry! I ended up being pretty busy, though I have no clue what I did. I'm to tired to post now. Been out at the festival. Baby seemed to like the marching bands of the parade again. When they went by baby would start kicking and flipping, it was kinda cool. I'm anxious for Monday, and I just want to see my babys face. I'd like to see what's in between the legs too, heh, but I can live with not knowing. :) Isn't anyone else a teeny bit excited to know what's in there? My MIL is. My mom is like me, just wants a healthy baby, and E is the same way. My aunt and Nana gave me props today for saying I was very adament on breastfeeding and decided to clothe diaper. That made me happy. Though my other aunt said, "cloth diaper? well, i'll say $5 you give that up within a month." Which with the mood I've been in lately, I say SCREW YOU! I actually didn't say that. I said something like, "Well Erich, remember that we need to collect our $5 in March." She generally pisses me off. Like yesterday when we got to Nanas and I was pooped from walking all over town with E and I said, "Dang I'm exhausted, too much exercise for me today!" And she came back with a snide remark, "Well, when I was pregnant I worked out at the gym until I was 7 1/2 months." I wanted to say " I DON"T FREAKING CARE!" I didn't, I was a good girl. I said, " well, I didn't work out before, so I guess I shouldn't start now." She said you don't want to gain to much weight. To date folks I've lost 22lbs and gained back 3lbs. I think I'm okay. Back off! My nerves are wearing thin lately and she wasn't helping. She ticked E off pretty bad too. Erich made the comment earlier that 20 years ago EVERYONE cloth diapered. It was unheard of to use disposable. Why must people comment on my choices? I don't care if you don't agree with it, and I understand, five years ago I would have thought it was pretty out there. But we must remember that I worked in nursing homes, changed old peoples diapers (and yes the Veterans home uses clothe) and had to take them and spray them out which was truly the most disgusting thing ever. I can handle baby poop and I can handle spending less money, and YOU aren't going to be doing MY laundry. Feh. I need to go to bed I'm just working myself up again. But I will say...

That I've made choices that I don't voice to a lot of people. Like extended breastfeeding, using a co-sleeper, and clothe diaper. I don't vocalize to others about their choices. I realize that the mainstream was made to believe that formula is best and disposables are common. I may say, well breast is best, but I'm to passive to go stomping in and saying this is wrong. NOT that I think people who say that sort of stuff are bad, kudos to be able to voice your opinion. I'm just to passive too. I keep to myself. I think as long as I do what I think is best for my child, then I can say I gave it my all, right? So why do others try to impend and make me feel bad for saying that I'm going to clothe diaper or assuming that I won't be able to do it? I just don't understand why people insist (I'm talking about "real life" people) on thinking my ways are wrong, and that only they can teach me the "right" way. I've got to stop. This is making me cry. I just hear the phrase in my head, "why can't we all just get along?" But I understand that it takes passive people like me and aggressive people to make the world work correctly. But lecturing and yelling and frowning tend to make us passive people feel like complete cow crap. That's all. I hope you are all still reading and still my friend. Though I can only think of a couple of people that I read aggressively that would make me hurt if they turned away from me. I'm sure others have left my boring life long ago.

Is it Monday yet?

Well, it's almost Friday. The weekend should go somewhat fast with the festival in town. Man it was crowded tonight! And on Monday... OUR BIG ULTRASOUND! Let's hope baby is cooperative. **fingers crossed** I just want to make sure baby is the right size, four chambers to the heart, spine closed, intestines in they tummy, no water on the brain. The list is endless. Working in healthcare kills my optimism sometimes. :( I'm sure all is OK but I still worry and I should get used to it, cause I'm going to be worrying for the rest of my life, aren't I? I'm waiting for E to get home but I'm getting very sleepy. More in the morning, and the worker rant is coming, still digesting it though. Sleep tight.

Crazy!

Baby gets really crazy when I eat. About half way through my meal, s/he starts jumping and flipping and acting crazy . S/he must run out of room or like the food coming down or something.

Continued

My last post was stopped prematurely, though now I've forgotten what else I was going to write. I have a big giant rant about the girl that works here in the library with me (inspired by Allison) but I'm to tired to write it right now. So, ya know, I'll get back to reading blogs and doing nothing. :)

Can you read it now?

It appears that I have fixed it. Though the "posted by" section is entirely to big of a font for my likes and I tried changing that but was unsuccessful but beggars can't be choosers right?

Lots to blog about really. Erich and I FINALLY figured out a middle name for a girl. Woot! :) SO glad to have that figured out. I did a TON around the house like dishes, 7 loads of laundry, made 2 pillows, picked up, changed the sheets, took all the laundry downstairs, organized my business office, did some business work. I feel productive. :)

Changing the subject, but...Why is it that people do not know what to do at 4 way stops? That aggravates me to no end. And I hate idling at a 4 way stop where the five stupid people can not figure out what to do while I sit in my car on EMPTY wondering if we are going to make it to a gas station. Argh. That drives me insane!

The local festival is rolling into town. It starts tonight. They have been making craziness by shutting off the side roads directly off the main highway (the only highway mind you) in town. My little town of 5,000 puts on this festival and everyone always looks forward to it (including me) though you really just go eat, look at booths, and maybe ride a carnival ride. Sucky part is I'm just about 19 weeks pregnant so no rides for me. And I saw this morning that they brought the tilt-a-whirl, my favorite carnival ride of all time. Really I only like that and the scrambler. I don't care for rides that go off of the ground. I LOVE to fly though.

Suggestions?

Melanie suggested that something was wrong with the blog ring codes. I took them completely out and that didn't work. Dangit. I emailed blogger but they get to everyone but paying customers are a priority or some such like that. So uh... any more suggestions?

WTF?

What the heck did I do to my template to make all of the font funkdified? Someone please help!

lunch

I truly truly hate when lunch makes me feel worse than before I ate it. Feh.

font

Is it just me? Or is the font size screwed up?

Comments

I've noticed (not only my blog) that the comments from enetation don't seem to work all of the time. Lately when you pull up a comments box, the comments aren't in the box. That annoys me. Since all of my work here is done, I think I may look for another comments doo-bop. That should keep me occupied for about half an hour.

bleh...

I really don't feel like blogging but I will. Well, the saturn died on Friday. :( Luckily my local Saturn dealer was able to do CPR for the bargain price of $450. But hey I figure that's about $36 dollars a month to drive plus gas which is a small price in the Saturn. So the majority of my day/evening was spent there. Saturday we hung out around the house and just did things that needed to be done. For the love of God I can't remember what we did, though I do know that Ella got a bath. We babysat in the evening and ate dinner at Applebee's which is the last time we shall dine there. The food generally sucks but I had a craving for an Applebees steak. Erich couldn't really find anything he wanted to eat on the menu, and that is saying a lot since this boy will eat just about anything and everything. So no more Applebee's though I'm sure it won't be missed.

Sunday we had lunch with my grandparents at the Jim Dandy, where it's sure to be a dandy time. I couldn't find a link. It's kinda local to Indiana I believe. After we finished there we went home and E worked in his wood shop and Ella and I took a long nap. We loved it. :) The rain made it perfect too. We ended up babysitting on Sunday evening too.

Monday we went to my moms house and putzed around there. Then came home and did nothing (do you see a pattern here?) I did grab the doggie clippers and chopped all of the hair off Gracy. I'll have to post a picture tonight.

Tonight I'm going to my cousin (who's preggo with triplets) house to fix her dinner and entertain her vaudeville style. She doesn't know I'm coming yet, but I'm guessing that since she is on complete bed rest (and her hubby works second shift) that she will be there. She better be, or I'll kick her butt.

Okay going to do more nothing around here. T minus 6 days until the ultrasound! whoopeee!

The Three Little Pigs

Remember me telling you about my cousin who is pregnant with triplets? She had been put on bed rest several weeks ago because her cervix was starting to get soft. I just found out that at her appointment last week they found out that she has gestational diabetes. She is also 1cm dilated and 70% effaced. She is on complete/strict bed rest. They gave her a shot of steroids to speed up the maturing of the babies lungs. They also put her on labor stopping drugs. She is only 29 weeks. The hope is to get her to at least 32. We'll see. So please send some lung maturing, labor stopping vibes her way.

MIT

This could be a lot of fun to pass time with here at work.

Unborn Heart

Have you ever heard the song by Dan Hill entitled "Unborn Heart"? It's kinda slow but the words are really cool. Here are the lyrics.

Unborn Heart

When she told me
She was gonna have a baby
A part of me went weighless
For the first time in my life
There was nothing I could say
It's like a miracle from the stars above
Paralized with fear
I was overcome with love

She said soon you'll hear the beating
Of an unborn heart
This is the answer
You've been searching for so hard
And for the first time in my life I felt
The wave of love so deep
As I listened for the unborn child's heartbeat

I said something stupid like, how are you feeling
She smiled the warmest smile I've ever seen
Ohhh, I guess that said it all
Now were a far cry from the storybook romance
Something in her eyes, made me crumble
I reached out for her hand

She said soon, you'll hear the beating
Of an unborn heart
This is the answer
You've been searching for so hard
And for the first time in my life I felt
The wave of love so deep
As I listened for the unborn child's heartbeat

Now we all know how crazy
This world can be sometimes
And I lie awake at night and wonder
How a child survives
Beyond the danger in the strangers
And the inhumanity
Lord give us strength to someday find a world that lives in peace

Ohhh

Soon, you'll hear the beating
Of an unborn heart
This is the answer
You've been searching for so hard
And for the first time in my life I felt
The wave of love so deep
As I listened for the unborn child's heartbeat

Ohhh, I can almost hear the beating...

Look at the belly!

I posted a picture of me at 18 weeks. According to the pregnancy journal we are in the fifth lunar month now. :) You can also see my kitchen that I painted. All of the walls are that yellow with cabinet doors a minty green. It's beautiful (IMHO).

Stories

Does anyone know where I can find online stories and books to read?

Oh I hate that rabbit...

I'm genuinely pissed right now. It really ticks me off that I have been desperately looking for things to do around here just to pass the time. Yet the chick (who has called in 4 out of 5 times this week) who works with me comes in, sits down and starts reading her stupid little russian short stories. She only works four hours a day and to top it off, she has taken at least an hour lunch already. WTF? Someone please shoot me.

What now?

So it's 10:08 and I've done all the work for the day. What the heck do I do now?

Lemonade, anyone?

I just played the Lemonade Stand Game for about an hour. I've come to the conclusion that I am insanely bored and that it is just not profitable to have a lemonade stand. I keep telling myself that I can leave at 3:45. I'm supposed to leave at 4pm but 3:45 is acceptable. But dang that is still 30 minutes away.

You stupid little kid...

I would never say that to anyone, but that is how I feel my limited duty supervisor treats me. I believe that in a previous entry I have said that I hate being treated like a child and it's this LD supervisor that treats me in such a manner. She comes to me and repeats her directions at least five times. She speaks to me like an illiterate little child who doesn't even speak English as their first language. I despise that. Why must she treat me this way? I'm a very intelligent young woman, graduated with an honors diploma, had an above the average SAT/ACT score. I also went to a very snobby undergraduate school that stole a lot of my money because they are so "great." And yet, this lady thinks that she can treat me in this demeaning manner. It irritates the living crap out of me.

A Mid Day Snack

I just got back from my mid day snack. A small salad. A bonus (aside from not feeling hungry anymore) is that when I eat here at work, it takes time which makes my day pass by a bit faster. Yum. So I had a small salad, a bit of cottage cheese, and apple juice. Healthy, right? I'm trying to make a conscious effort to consume more calcium, juice, and water. Since I don't drink milk, I'm thinking I should be uping things elsewhere, so I had cottage cheese. And I drink juice at work and water at home and a small cup of not very strong tea in the morning. The tea helps "ground" my stomach.

Adorable Baby

Check out Rachels really really really really adorable baby.

Hungry (again)

I'm hungry yet again. I'm thinking a nice salad would taste good right about now. What do you think?

Pregnant Eating

Okay I've had about enough of this topic so I'm going to let my rant loose and forget about it. To begin, I've always been a very picky eater. I always say to not take offense if I don't eat something that is put in front of me, it's probably delicious, I'm just not a fan of that particular food. Erich is the exact opposite. Although he too is a picky eater, he will eat anything that is put in front of him.

Pregnancy has not made me any less of a picky eater. In fact, it has probably made it worse since things I once enjoyed like fast food, greasy foods, sweets, milk, cereal, and eggs no longer appeal to me. (I did however have Chinese food the other day on a craving, but normally I don't like Chinese). So most foods that make me sick now are breakfast foods. If I don't eat breakfast, I start the day off sick, so breakfast has become somewhat of a difficult time.

So the other day, I went into the cafeteria to scavenge for something to eat. The only thing that looked appealing was a doughnut. Knowing that if I at least got something into my stomach, I would feel much better and able to snack on nuts and crackers until lunchtime. I paid for the doughnut and noticed coworkers sitting at a table eating so I joined them. As soon as I sat down someone says " you know that doughnut isn't very good for that baby". This irritates me, but I smile and say " I guess you are right."

A couple of days later, I go into the cafeteria to buy a small coke. I have a raging headache (which about five days later, I still have) so I figure a small dose of caffeine might help things. Well I run into yet another coworker and he tells me that I shouldn't drink caffeine while pregnant. This enrages me. First off, I don't indulge in junk food all day long. In fact, junk food mostly makes me sick. And sweets make me sick, so I'm probably eating healthier than I have ever eaten in my entire life. Secondly, this is coming from a man who earlier this year had a heart attack, yet still smokes at least a pack a day. I could have said, "well those cigs aren't good for your heart, and it probably enrages the people that WORKED THEIR A**ES OFF TO SAVE YOUR BUTT to see you smoking."

I understand that everybody has this thing in them that wants to "help." But to be truthful those things are more upsetting to me. It makes me think I'm going to be a bad mom, if I can't even do what's right for baby while s/he is inside of me. I know there is always going to be someone, but I wish people would just lay off for a while. I had a very rough beginning 12 weeks of this pregnancy. I haven't gained a ton of weight, in fact I lost almost 22lbs. I only think that since the weight loss that I've gained maybe a 1 1/2 lb. I'm not going crazy like some preggers do, but there is no way to show others that. I guess I just have to bite my tongue and live with it.

All alone...

It appears that the other chick that works in the library has called in. After all it is 10:15 and she is supposed to be here at 10am. It just boggles my mind that she calls in at least once a week and nobody says ANYTHING to her, and yet if I call in once more they are going to fire me. Is there any justice in this world?

So what do I do now?

It is currently 9:45am. All of my "work" is done. So how do I fill my time until 4:00pm? Suggestions anyone?

boring...

My life is boring. Any ideas on how to spice it up?

The boring life I lead...

Not much happening around here. Completely, insanely bored out of my mind, but ya know, story of my life. I look forward to the day when I say, "bye-eee! I no longer have to work in this hell hole! nahnahnahnahnahnaaaa" That day seems really far off right now.

I really miss Beanmom too. And I really want to see a picture of Amelia. Oh well, I'll live, right?

The Lunch Lady...

I just came from the cafeteria. I walked up to the register to pay for my beverage and the cashier was a few feet away putting away clean silverware. Several days ago, I noticed that when they put away silverware, they wear gloves. This made me very happy to see that they did not come in contact with them. So today I wait for the lady at the counter. She comes over, and I expect her to take off her gloves, but she doesn't! She rings up my purchase collects my money, shuts her drawer (all with gloves on ) and goes to finish putting the silverware away. I know what your thinking, surely she changed gloves right? Wrong. She did not. And I feel now that I have a calling to be an undercover cop for the Health Department.

Baby Come Out!

No, not me. Mine needs to stay in a lot longer. I am really impatient about Rachel though. I realize that no news at this point, is probably good news, but I really want to know what is going on. And being here at work doing absolutely nothing makes me want to check her blog EVERY 2 1/2 minutes.

And your title is...

Boredom seems to have paid off. I've figured out how to put titles on entries. I know you are all just thrilled.

Holy crap I'm bored. I've seriously done absolutely nothing today. The library had volunteers today that did my work so here I am, bored bored bored. I've read the paper and readers digest. I've read online newspapers. Every blog I read plus every blog on everybody elses blogrolls. I've surfed the net, checked my email, checked my voicemail, did a bit of online shopping, added to my Pottery Barn Kids registry. Seriously people, I'm about to shoot myself in the foot so I could leave. Bleh. This sucks.
Okay, with impending ultrasound just two weeks away, I decided to do a baby poll to see what people think. It will be open for a long time, but I want to know boy or girl for the ultrasound. If you would like to play just leave a comment and I will email the game name to you. :)
Well, I had Friday off. The electricians came and ripped a hole in my wall to put in a circuit breaker (that box was bigger than the old fuse box) so that resulted in plaster falling, which made them have to do some drywall repairs. Of course it looked awful, so I had to paint. We went to the store on Saturday and picked up the paint and such and were painting by 1130. The kitchen is now a "butter" yellow as I like to call it and the cabinet doors are a nice minty green. It really is beautiful despite how awful it sounds. I'll post a pic later tonight when I am at home. :)

Saturday evening we took a break to go eat with E's friends in Muncie. Afterwards we all went to a free John Anderson concert (not that Erich and I had ever heard of John Anderson) but it was fun. We came back home and stayed up until 1am working on the kitchen.

Sunday morning we woke early to finish up since E's older brother and wife were coming over for lunch. We actually had all the painting done (wow! it was quite a big room) and only needed to put up cabinet doors. We lunched on steaks and baked potatoes and ice cream sundaes. We had a nice time too. :)

I ended up finishing the changing table. I need to post an after picture of that too. It has all the hardware and such. Now all I need is a changing pad and some baskets. I think I will look tonight at Target for the baskets. yippee.

Ella went to the vet on Friday afternoon, then spent the rest of the evening on the couch. The shots seemed to make her really sleepy. We bought her heartworm medicine and he gave us samples of this pill to give her if she gets fleas. It kills the fleas within a half hour after you give it to her. She didn't have heartworm, but she suffered enough when they drew her blood to do the heartworm test. Apparently, she has veins that roll and it made for a hard stick. She just sank her head into my belly and cryed. It truly broke my heart. She did the same thing when he gave her the shots. They must have stung. :( The vet made the comment that she is very kind and gentle and not very hyper for a weimrainer/jack russell terrier mix. I said I was lucky to have such good dogs like Gracy and Ella. He said it wasn't really the dog, it was the "parents." He said he could tell who trained their dogs to be respectful citizens and who just let the dog run wild. He said cared for dogs in general were a lot better because they were loved, received plenty of attention, and were happy. :) That made my heart swell with joy. It also made me realize that we love this dog way too much.

The vet also talked to me about my pregnancy, how it will effect Ella, and tips on how to get her ready. He thinks she will be a great protector of the baby and that Ella and baby, as long as we nurture the relationship, will have a lifelong love for each other. yay. :)

Usually when I come home from work, Ella is there to greet me and plant a kiss on my hand or cheek to tell me shes happy to have me home. Lately, she also sniffs my belly and occasionally gives it a little kiss. E swears that she knows there is another baby in there, he says she can smell baby. I think it is a bit funny. E's friends dog did that to me the other day too. Weird, huh?

Erich is getting more and more into baby. We are starting to get excited and others are too. I'm feeling almost constant rolling and last night when E had his arm around my belly, he swears that he felt "bubbles popping". When we were at Target yesterday, he bought a bib that says "I Love My Daddy." :) He's just too cute. :)

This is a virtural candle **flame** for Rachel. Here is hoping she has a baby today! ( I'll light a "real" candle for her tonight when I get home from work.)

Okay I must find something else to do.

Saturday, August 23, 2003

Oh, and for your amusement and mine, go visit this. I'm going to hell for laughing at this, but truly it's hilarious.
I'm 17 weeks pregnant! It feels like every week is a milestone jumped. 23 weeks to go, hopefully. I really don't want to end up like poor Rachel. Of course it will be January in Indiana so we may end up having this kid at the house if the January before is anything of a prediction. I'm not sure we could make it the twenty minutes to the hospital in a blizzard. We all laugh at my stepdad though cause he swears he will be sleeping with the keys to his 4x4 in his pocket. My guess is that since they live an hour from us (hour and a half from the hospital) they'll start staying here closer to the birth, but we'll see. Anyways, 17 weeks. I feel flutters a lot now, constantly when I am laying down and baby is awake. Only 16 days untl the ultrasound on the 8th. I just want to know everything is OK. And what we are going to call this baby! We have both names picked now, so its up to baby to show us the money! :)

Remember the movie "Meet the Parents" ? Well, they are making a sequel to it called "Meet the Faulkers" where you meet Ben Stillers parents. Robin Williams is supposed to play Stillers dad. Should be funny.

Anywho-- I'm going to bed. Amazingly tired, and I still have a killer headache I can't seem to ditch. Electricians are coming tomorrow to change the fuse box into a circuit breaker. Power should go off at 8am so no blogging until evening. I have to take Ella to the vet tomorrow too. Hoorah, there goes my money. Feh. I'm off to bed, I'll get up and check to see if Rachel is in labor and then disappear for the day. I'm sure you won't miss me.
I have something waiting for me at home. I'd like to leave right now, though that is impossible. Time passes amazingly slow around here. This place irritates me. :( Today is payday though, so that is an upside. I'm sure it will be just as disappointing this week as it was a couple of weeks ago. boo.
I'm truly missing my dad right now. Not sure what triggered it, but nonetheless, it's here. Sometimes my mom says things about my dad-- the way he was, what he would have said, something he once did. She has truly moved on, found a great man, and has all of these memories. Sometimes I feel like my memories are few and far between. Sometimes it feels like I imagined him. And here we are, Erich and I, bringing a baby into this world. Naming baby (if baby is boy) after this spectacular father that I have a vision of in my head, and baby will never know him. Never speak to him. It makes me sad. I'm passing one of those milestones that he should be here for. There is a list now. He should have taught me to drive, should have harassed my first date, should have seen me walk in graduation. He should have moved me to college the first time and pulled out naked baby pictures when Erich met him. He should have been there to shake Erichs hand and congratulate us when we got engaged and he should have walked me down the aisle. That is a big one. He should have walked me down the aisle. It should have been such a joyous and happy occasion yet it was bittersweet because he was not there. And in a little over 20 weeks, he should be there to hold his first grandbaby, but he won't be. I don't know who to be mad at, him or life.

Wow. How did I get to this point? Last night, I washed all of the dishes, put them away, and shined the sink. I vacuumed the carpets and cleared the DR table. Today, I washed the breakfast dishes, started another load of laundry, and I feel like there is nothing else to do. I need to give Ella a bath and keep painting the changing table, but that has to wait until my mom comes and goes for dinner break. This is amazing. Without Erich here in the morning, he went back to school today, the house stays the same as when I leave it at night. I miss Erich, but I could get used to this! :)
I'm home now. My head is killing me. I'm eating a pizza from my favorite pizza place, bought with the $20 I found. That makes me sorta happy. After this I think I should rest a bit. Sounds like a plan, right? Oh, and will someone please come and kill the two flies that have seemed to get into the house. They are driving me mad.
Well, I filled all of the copy orders. Checked in all of the journals. Put away a most of the journals. Shelved all the books on carts (about 40 or 50). And filed the checked out cards. There is nothing left to do. Oh, and the girl that works with me, she sat and made a long distance-personal phone call to Russia and then read a magazine while I did all this. I hate my job.
I found $20. I guess that makes me a bit better to be around, but not really. Is it 12 oclock yet? Nope, 11:23. Feh.
I really hate my job. I've been going back and forth to the batheroom to throw up all morning. I feel like crap. Feels like a migraine. I have trouble sleeping, which is probably what is upsetting my head. It can't be good for baby if I am wretching every five minutes. I hate this. And ya know if I go home right now to take it easy lay back and see if I can eat, I'd get fired. Amazing, huh?

This place is a royal pain in the a**. They want me to go to the doctor to get another note just restating that I am under physical restrictions and cannot meet my "regular" job requirements at this time per my physician. How ridiculous is that? So I have to leave work (the perk of it! heh) and go to the doctors office to get the note to bring to them. I'm not coming back today. Sheesh. I'll just bring it in tomorrow. So short work day. Woot!

I can't tell you how MUCH I HATE being treated like a child. In generally tends to put me in a rather pissy mood and ruins the rest of my day.
Okay this is in no way to offend anyone, okay? I've never really liked cats. I think this may be partially do to the fact that when I was little, a cat layed it claws on me and left a gigantic scratch. Cat pee has a very very distinctive smell, especially when mixed with litter. I hate cats for the fact that I would have to clean the litter box, something that does not please me. With my dogs, I let them out in our fenced in yard and they do their business there. I'm not saying that my old dog doesn't have occasional accidents, but I would say 99.5% of the time we are safe. I like that I don't have to clean up after my dogs do their "business" (though my thoughtful husband does go "pick up" stuff every couple of days outside so you aren't stepping in doodoo. So anyways...

there is a lady (a volunteer) that comes in to the library every once in a while and labels the new books with the number to be shelved. I was sitting next to her (actually she sat next to me) a few minutes ago and there is a very distinctive, very very STRONG smell of cat pee/litter. I hate that. My dogs don't stink and I try very hard to make sure there isn't a "dog smell" in the house. Some dogs do have smells, and I tell you now, that if I had one they would be going to a different home.

Some people do a very very good job at avoiding the cat smell/litter issue. Was it the movie "meet the parents" where they train the cat to pee in the toilet? Anywho, if you are one of those people that avoid kitty smells then a gigantic KUDOS TO YOU! I love your cat. But to kitty smells as a whole, I have to say oooo grosss!

For more kitty ranting, go visit Dawn.
It's 11:36. Let's see how long it takes me to write this. Unfortunately it is only 11:36 and that depresses me. Why can't the day go by faster? So here is a run down of my weekend. Saturday we went to lunch at the Olive Garden with the $25 dollar gift certificate the in-laws gave us for our anniversary. It was yummy. :) I absolutely adore the Olive Garden. Saturday evening Erichs best friend Derek and his wife, Shannon, came over. They had a German foreign exchange student ,that had been Shannons freshman roomate, and her boyfriend with them. The students wanted to be by themselves. ha. Anyways, we made hamburgers on the grill and corn on the cob and watched the movie
Phonebooth
a good movie.

Sunday I slept in until about 10:30am and then showered and started making lunch for the in-laws. We had steak on the grill, baked potatoes, and corn on the cob. (we had a ton of corn from my mom's garden, can you tell?) They brought the diaper changing table that my father in law built when their first was on the way. Erich and I are in the process of fixing it (it needed a lip on the top, a shelf was broken, and a drawer is missing the face). Erich has already fixed the broken shelf and the put a lip on the dresser. We decided to just take out the bottom of the drawer that was missing the face, put it in the slot and leave it open. I'll buy some baskets to go in there to store stuff. We sanded it down last night, and I took the hardware off. Coincidentally, I believe the hardware matches the hutch so I am going to have Erich spray paint them white and put them on the hutch. :) I am going to buy paint tonight and the hardware for it and get to work "restoring" it. My plan is to paint it a creamy white/ivory color and then paint moons and stars all over it.

Overall it was a lazy weekend. I found myself with a ton of energy last night and ended up doing two loads of laundry, clipping coupons, changing the sheets on our bed, and sanding the changing table. I have tons more to do tonight at home which is why being here drives me nuts! At least this is a short week, I will be home on Friday with the electricians. They are coming to change out our fuse box with a circuit breaker. I'm sure that will be a terribly exciting day stuck in a hot house with no air conditioning, no computer, no TV, no nothing. bleh. Maybe I'll get my floors mopped and do dusting, cleaning that doesn't involve electricity. Sounds like a plan, right?

Oh you can see a "before" picture of the changing table here.

I believe that's all for now. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I'm hungry again, dangit, I'll go eat something.

I'm a librarian! ha! I'm on a wild goose chase for an article from a journal with only the month it was published and the page it started on. No year, no subject. This could take a while...

Thursday, August 14, 2003

Blogging light today, not much to say really. I'm getting ready to leave work and go to BW3's to hang out with the crew from surgery. A sales rep is taking the dept, he's covering the bill, so who can resist? Then after that I have to babysit then go home and crash! Long day to say the least, but I will get to have some contact with my friends... wee.
My dreams have just become downright bizarre...

Wednesday, August 13, 2003

Well, I got a 3 out of 4. I guess that is good since they gave out no 3's. I disbuted one rating so she is going to check up on it. They will let everyone know in SEPTEMBER if you get the raise. And in OCTOBER, it takes effect. How crazy is that? I may/probably won't be here in Septemeber (God willing). I hate this place. ..
I'm getting ready to go upstairs to meet with my direct supervisor for my year evaluation. I don't think I'm getting a raise, as I don't think most are. But I guess we will see, huh? We could sure use a bit of extra cash. I've never had a job that I didn't get a raise at. :( Wish me luck, k?
For some reason, when I update my page, it does not seem to catch on to blogrolling. For example, if I republish my blog, and then go to Rachels site it does not show that I've updated. Now why the heck is that? Maybe I'll play around with it...

Tuesday, August 12, 2003

Well the last load of laundry is in the dryer (that is, the last load I am doing this week). The dishes are washed and need to be put away. I mopped the bedroom floor and the nursery! yay me! :) I need to vacuum the area rug in the bedroom and steam clean it. That would be awesome if I could do that tonight, though it requires me carrying the vacuum up the stairs which is a no no. Maybe if Erich gets home in time...
I just finished eating my Whatchamacallit and it was delicious. E and I bought a box of them at Sams Club this last weekend. Sounds a bit drastic, huh? They were only 34 cents a bar, and considering that I don't crave sweets nor do I think they are particularly great at the moment, I didn't see it as a big deal. Most pregnant women I have talked to have said that they crave sweets. Not me. I crave meat and SALT. Man, things aren't salty enough if you ask me. Yes yes yes, I know salt is not good for you or me or baby. But dang, it tastes so GOOD!
So much to tell! Well, my mom came over last night with a gift. **grin** She is so funny! :) I didn't tell her about the fall until after my appt yesterday because I didn't want her to freak out. She is also not fond of my doggies as of late. She constantly yells at Ella when she is over because Ella is always underneath my feet. So I carefully left out the detail that I tripped over Gracy. :) The first thing she said when she walked in the door is, What dog did you trip on? I said I didn't trip on a dog mom. She said I bet you did and your stepfather thinks you did too, so tell me so I can kill the guilty one. Heh. She's a quite to-the-point person, though she would NEVER kill a dog. Okay?

I talked with Erichs grandma and aunt last night (this aunt is in direct care of grandma and is her POA). She is doing fine. My MIL really freaked me out yesterday. She had her facts confused. So here is the run down. Grandma has been in kidney failure for years. About 30 minutes into her dialysis treatment yesterday she told the nurse that she felt funny and that something was wrong, the nurse asked what? and grandma passed out. She did stop breathing but as far as I know her heart did not stop. They took her to the nearest hospital and stablized her, then sent her on to a bigger hospital in Kansas City,MO. The diagnosis seems to be that she is in Congestive Heart Failure. She has a lot of fluid on her so they will be taking her to dialysis daily for a while. Hopefully that will help a lot and they will figure out a plan of treatment. I spoke with her on the phone and she seems to be in good spirits and doing well.

I am definitely feeling baby move. Last night I layed down on the bed to stretch and rolled on to my tummy for just a few to stretch. I felt a definite "thump thump thump." E said that baby is in there hollering "get off of me Mommy!" heh.

I still feel like there is tons of stuff to do around the house but I'm limited in what I can do. :( I can no longer carry clean laundry from the basement to the second floor bedrooms. I have to wait for E to do it. I am also supposed to avoid the stairs and especially avoid carrying things up and down, i.e. vacuum cleaner, etc. I did however get a lot of laundry done and folded and ready to be carried upstairs. It amazes me that one person (E) can generate SO MUCH stinking laundry. I swear I do more of his laundry then my own! I also steam cleaned the upstairs carpet like I have been meaning to do for oh about a month. :)

My FMLA request was denied. GMAC sent us money though which was a blessing from God. I was able to pay off a ton of stuff and get things off of my chest. yippee. The lady that offered me a nanny position will interview with the possible job on Thursday. Lets all keep our fingers crossed. :)

Rachel received her care package in the mail yesterday and I think she liked it. :) I made her a baby blanket, sent her some genuine homegrown Indiana Sweet Corn, 2 kiddie books, and 1 mommy book. :)

Guess I forgot to update after my appt. I'll make this quick because it is about to rain cats and dogs. Lost another 1/2 pound putting me up to losing something like 20.5 pounds thus far. Wowee. Baby is fine (huge sigh of relief) heartbeat is very strong and so loud! My baby is getting much bigger. He did a flop (she had the portable ultrasound machine) and it definitely confirmed that the bubbles and "flops" I'm feeling is baby moving. yay. Went ahead and canceled next weeks appt and set an appt for 4 weeks from today so on Sept 8 we will have an appt and an ultrasound to check cervical length (I had a LEEP this year so part of that organ is gone for good! eeps!) and hopefully baby will confirm that he is a boy and delight his daddy and disappoint his daddys mommy! lol I told her today that I keep thinking it is a boy and I have boy vibes and she whined, " but I want a giirrrllll" I wanted to say "too bad!" but I refrained.

Erichs grandma, who is already in kidney failure, went in this morning for her dialysis. She coded during it. :( They brought her back and she is in the hospital and they finished the dialysis for the day. They think she is in congestive heart failure, so we may be picking up to go to Missouri again. We'll see. More later.
Just call me Grace. Fell down the stairs yesterday. (i hear you all saying "again?") I was carrying laundry and my deaf dog Gracy was sitting on the steps. I didn't realize this and humpty went tumbling down. Cramping all last night so I called OB on call and she said as long as I wasn't bleeding to lay low. So here I am laying low, I'll be headed to the doctors after a bit to check for the heartbeat. I need to start taking better care of myself. I'll update later.

Not sleeping well. Feh. I find I fall asleep for about four hours then wake up on my side that has gone completely numb from shoulder to foot. So I turn to my other side and wake up an hour later in the same condition. I desperately long to sleep on my back which is not suggested and besides that it hurts. I get a funny pressure feeling on my tummy. I really really long to sleep on my tummy too, though that hurts just as much as the back. Maybe it's just the weather or something. It's to early in this pregnancy to have problems sleeping.

Saturday, August 09, 2003

Okay so I didn't get that nap. I've taken the kitchen trash outside, vacuumed the main floor and dusted the living room. I think I'll just go hang out in the basement, do laundry and watch TV until it is time to make dinner.
Okay so I vacuumed downstairs, started another load of laundry, washed the dishes. wiped down the all of the kitchen counters sink and stove, made Erich some Kool-Aid (I hate that stuff) and made myself a bowl of soup. Still need to sweep and mop the floor in the kitchen, but first I'm going to eat my soup and take a short nap. Standing in front of the sink just kills my back these days.
Yay! Well we went and ate lunch, but instead of Texas Roadhouse went to Chilis. I would rather of had Texas Roadhouse but hey beggars can't be choosers. (TR didn't open for another 45 minutes and I just couldn't wait that long!) I mailed Rachels box (go me!) and feel very productive just having done that. I bought a new bra (went up an entire cup size, wowee, tell me these things aren't going to get bigger!) and some undies (damn dog keeps eating mine!). We looked at changing tables at a baby superstore and came home to find we had left Gracy out in the rain (oops!). So I gave her a nice warm bath, she feels tons better! Then I've started laundry and caught myself up in the pregnancy journal. I'm going to go vacuum downstairs, start another load and move to the main floor (I'm in the basement now). So moving on...
I'm up. I feel better (felt a bit sick) and I'm headed to the shower. Erich and I are going to eat lunch at Texas Roadhouse in honor of our anniversary tomorrow (one whole year! probably the toughest too!) and run a bunch of errands! :) Then come home to do oodles of stuff we want to get done around the house. I'll post the list in a bit. :)

Friday, August 08, 2003

I've been a very good girl and did all of my errands. :) Now I deserve a nap, right?
Okay here starts my list of stuff to do

ERRANDS

1. cash
2. bank for proof of cleared check
3. to grandmommy's to fax to dumba**** at Sentry
(they owe us a refund for dropping us, they said they hold checks **20** days after clearing so that they get the money before they will pay out, when I got firey with her though, she said if I could send proof she would dispurse the damn check. It's like $200, and I need it.)

AT HOME
oh the damn list is so long i'll do it later. Bah.
So after being throughly drugged from last night, I drove to Erich and we went to see American Wedding. Only Derek and his wife went. We at at Hooters before and made fun of the not-so-hot waitresses. The movie was funny but there was one part that made me start to gag. I had to throw my head in between my legs and wait for Erich to tell me it was over.

I'm really tired this morning. I'm still feeling a bit of the effects of the drugs, and my I can still feel the migraine in my spine. Ouch. I think I am going to leave work early as there are things I need to do. There is a bunch of stuff that needs to be done around the house. I will make a new list here shortly. Blah.

I have to babysit tonight which is good and bad. I wish I could just go home and nap, hopefully after my errands there will be enough time to do that. It is good though 'cause we really need the money.

I think this library should have a cot.
Once again I bend over and take it up the rear. I'm really really sick of life in general. Ug.

Thursday, August 07, 2003

Okay so I feel that "narcotic" effect of the vicodin they gave me so I better make this quick before I pass out right here at the keyboard. Went to the doctor and waited in the waiting room about 5 minutes, but waited 20 minutes in the exam room! Sheesh. So I puked in their biohazard bag twice. No I did not do it on purpose, but in my defense you leave a pregnant woman, who just wants some safe for her baby drugs to get rid of the gigantic headache, in a room with florescent lights. She's already told you that she is sick to her stomach and that she probably eat something again soon before she does that "I'm pregnant and haven't eaten" puking. The phenegran is left in her house and not in her purse. Feh. So they should have known. They should feel lucky that I am an experienced pregnant puker and made it to the trash bag, the biohazard one at that, and didn't make a mess. I even pulled the bag out for them, tied it up, and put a new bag in for them. Ha! Years of nursing home aide work makes me not care. They didn't know I puked (unless they heard me hacking) until I stepped out the door, one glove on my hand holding the biohazard bag and said, "um excuse me, where can I throw this away?" heh. At any rate he gave me vicodin informing me it was pregnancy category B after I conveyed my knowledge of the whole pregnancy drug system and sent me on my way. Thank you very much. I came home, filled the prescription, took that and a phenegran and ate take out spaghetti from my favorite local pizza place the Pizza Shack. I feel much better tummy wise and plan to go sleep away this migraine. (and be up in time to go to the movie tonight, I need a good laugh)
So this is how it is. Last night went 6 minutes in the opposite direction of home for a beautiful, glorious Schlotzskys Deli sandwich. It was absolutely divine I tell you. I worked on Rachels blanket and only have about 30 minutes left of work on it. Woot. It is a good thing too, cause that baby is coming soon! (right Rachel?) :)

I hate work, but ya know what's new?

I currently have what is turning in to one of my "bad" migraines. Now when I tell you I have a bad migraine it is the kind where you can hardly move, it hurts to breath, can hardly see, and will only be tamed by ER care. Yuck. So I called the OB to see what she has to say (it has yet to progress to this point, but I know the pattern and routine and it is headed right for the ER, which I've had enough of in this pregnancy.) She said to go see my PCP. PCP is not currently in, but they'll squeeze me in with an associate. Whatever just get me a nice pregnancy class A or B drug that won't cross the barrier of the placenta but will offer some much needed relieft. Gross. I've been lucky since I stopped my migraine prevention meds when I got pregnant--since they were a pregnancy class D, Yipes! , that I've only had a couple of migraines that I have been able to ward off with tylenol a bit of nausea meds and rest. This one isn't going to be like that though. While I'm at the "regular" doctor, do you think he'll have a doppler of some sort to listen to baby? That would be awesome...

Hopefully the plan is that after the doctors appt I'll have beautiful drugs that will take away this hideous beast so that I will be able to go see "American Wedding" with Erich and his best friend Derek, along with Ben and possibly Ryan (all friends of Erich). Ha! Can you see the picture of 4 guys walking into a theatre with an obviously pregnant woman to see American Pie. Cracks me up! :)

In other news, I'll be 15 weeks pregnant. A few months ago, if you remember, I never thought that I would be able to concieve because of my PCOS. I was depressed and down in the dumps and feeling like a failure as a woman and here I am 15 weeks pregnant! I know I know, compared to Rachel who is 39 weeks pregnant I'm not that pregnant but I am starting to look pregnant (and thin!). I'm starting to feel bubbles in my tummy which I believe is probably baby. Wowee. I went up to my department today and they all said that I look fabulous! Everyone wanted to rub my "buddha" belly and were saying how thin I look! Wow. Who'd have thought people would say how thin I was in pregnancy!

My bestest friend Phoebe came to see me for lunch here at work on Tuesday! She was amazed that I've lost about 20 pounds and still have a grown belly! :) It is weird. Theoretically with the weight I have lost, by the end of my pregnancy I should be back at my prepregancy weight. ha! Hopefully with my newly trimmer figure (I look thinner everywhere else except my tummy and a little extra boobage) and with breastfeeding, it will be much easier to lose weight. Man I hope so.

Okay I've rambled enough to pass the time so I can go to the doctor to get drugs. Thank goodness. I feel awful. Bah humbug.

Wednesday, August 06, 2003

I hate work. They just called me at home to tell me that they are writing me up for the time I missed when I was admitted to the hospital. These stupid pregnancy hormones have me completely upset now. I just want to crawl in a hole...
Crappety crap. I just lost a post due to my own stupidity. Anyways I didn't finish the earlier post like I was supposed to so here goes. Last night on my way home from work I was weirded out by getting motion sickness while I was driving! This was later fended away though by a weird craving for Scholtzkys Deli, which still lingers. The closest one to my house is about 15 minutes north, but a quick search a few minutes ago showed that there is one about 6 minutes from work! Woot! Now I should probably call Erich and see if I can get a sandwich using my Paypal Debit/CC which we earn money from everytime we use it. Anywho, met with the agent from Erie Insurance this morning. I told him that I had done some research on the company (cause he asked, since I wasn't familiar with it) and also mentioned that I had also asked my stepfather about it since he sells insurance too. (He just joined farm bureau and is in training, but afterwards he says that he is going to take care of us and even give an discount that comes directly out of his commission, isn't he sweet?) My stepfather said that Erie has a reputation for being a "one claim and you're out" kind of company. The agent denied it (as my stepdad and I both agreed he would) and said he had several customers who had filed claims and not been dropped. Heh. Anyhow, I rattled his feathers kinda like I had intended to just to see how he handled the situation. IMHO he handled it well, though I could still tell it sorta perturbed him.

I'm at work. It hasn't been so bad today. She had me print off the entire alphabet off of this site for a doctor who says that he does indeed have logolepsy: an obsession with words. It was close to 700 pages and it took up most of the morning. I ate a big lunch of stuffed shells and cantaloupe and strawberries. It made me feel great. I've also been munching continuously throughout the day which has also helped my stomach! This afternoon I created a resume for a lady using Resume Deluxe. If only I could somehow make some money doing resumes for people and typing papers/documents/etc. How would I even go about that though?

I've also been working on my FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) status. It's basically to cover my butt for the absences when I was in the hospital and for future days when I just don't feel like coming into work. Hmph. I will be quitting though before I should require Maternity Leave. I'm not coming back to this hellhole. It just isn't cost effective for us to pay for daycare and gas for me to come to work for eight hours a day just to make like $50 in the end. Thank you very much I'll stay home with my baby. (Unless I get that job as a nanny I talked about a few days ago! Cross your fingers!) Well that's all for now...
Well, there is a new picture up of me and Erich and "the belly." :) You can see it here. Of course he made it look better after I left by cropping it and turning it into black and white. Bah. I'll order some prints of the pics off of Shutterfly tonight. There is a cute one of Ella and me on the couch too! Must finish this post in five minutes... brb

Tuesday, August 05, 2003

I guess I have neglected to write about the "great insurance stink" which I have to come to refer to it. So here goes. Remember back in February when that awful lady hit the truck while we were in the house ? Well, we filed an uninsured motorist claim with Geico, our insurance carrier at the time, to pay for the damage. Because that is why we have insurance, right? To cover accidents. Anyways. We were unhappy, both coming from smaller towns, to have to deal with a big giant like Geico. Never did we speak to the same person on the phone, each time we would have to explain the entire situation over and rattle off numerous numbers, dates, times, places, etc. The insurance carriers I had had "growing up" never put me through this. They knew me by name and if something happened they took care of it. I hardly ever had to follow up because they called me before I could call them. Anyways. We weren't terribly thrilled with Geico. So in May we closed on our house and purchased home insurance through Sentry. We were then told, as most are, that if we moved our car insurance to Sentry that it would be cheaper for both home and auto. So we did with the fact that it was cheaper and that we would have an agent who, in theory, would be more readily available to help us! woot! So we switch over, then trade in the truck for the Vibe. When I call to switch over the vehicle I want to know the difference in insuring the vehicles, as most would, right? Well, the agent promises me he will call back, does he, nope. When we ask him what form of contact is better, phone or email, he says cell phone and email. So Erich and I start this wild soap opera of emailing and phoning this guy. To make a long story short, the dude pissed me off by not returning phone calls or emails and lying to me directly on one of the few occasions I was able to reach him. I'm mad and ready to switch (even though it is tons of hassle) but we agree to talk to his manager and see if another agent is a better "fit". So we go on vacation and leave our great insurance stink soap opera behind. We come home, for me to find a letter from Sentry saying they are dropping us as of 08/07/03 because of the accident in February. You remember, right? The one in which it was not our fault and WE WEREN'T EVEN IN THE CAR? I mean, this is why I dutifully right those check for large sums of money every six months, right? To leave worries behind, have peace of mind that if some idiot hits me I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE! Anyways I'm mad so I call my lovely agent, does he call me back? NO! It is now a week and half since I left the message for him to call me IMMEDIATELY. Urgh. So E and hop into a very speeded up process of finding insurance to cover our a** before 08/07 (Thursday). I have since found Erie Insurance. The agent I speak with is very cordial to me (doesn't mind if he speaks to me instead of Erich. Sentry agent treated me like I was the **wife** and would rather speak to Erich.) He returns my phone calls, generally within the hour and quoted us at a price of $400 less than Sentry, $600 less than Geico. Sign me up! I meet with him in the morning to give him a check and sign the application and I couldn't be more than thrilled! Also we are checking into home insurance through Erie and through State Farm. I'm done with Sentry. And I'm going to write a nice long complaint letter with my large quantities of time here in the library to the Sentry guy's manager, corporate office, and better business bureau of Indianapolis. I'm one ticked off pregnant woman, let me tell you!
I have that little nerd counter at the bottom of this page. Every time I am looking at my page though it says 1 user. I just looked a minute ago and it said 2! wowee! Someone actually reads this! :)

Dishes are done! Woot! My list is coming along nicely I do believe. Scratching them off one by one. I'm off to do the tub now. Need to put new tile treads down (Erich got the old ones all stained when he stained the deck.) To put the new ones on, the tub must be clean clean clean, and then they have to stay dry overnight!

To Do:

Look at my cleaning list from Friday! It feels so good to cross stuff off, even if it is just in cyberspace! :) Now I'm off to do dishes...

We have a new couch! Well, it's new to us at least. Passed down from my mom, it's a bit nicer (though I went ahead and put my sofa slip on it) and it is lighter (it doesn' thave a sleeper in it). So that's nice. I do dream of the day when I can go buy my very own sofa from the store, to match my house, and not have to cover it up. And I dream of the day I can buy a DR set, but that will be a while. Oh well, back to cleaning!

After all of this posting, it is still barey 2:30. I'm going to go nuts!
So other good news on the home front is that my wonderful husband got his review back. He got a 4 out of 5 (they never give 5 out of 5) and received a 5% raise! Thank you Lord!

The lady I regularly babysit for called me on Monday morning to ask me a question. Long story short, she is currently a SAHM. She was offered to interview for a job position with the company she worked with before kids. She would like to take the job as her husband wants to go back to school and concentrate on their "side" business of building $500, 000 houses. She says she wouldn't think of taking the job unless someone she knew and trusted could come and watch their two (fabulously adorable) babies. They instantly thought of me (and why wouldn't they! ha!) and offered to pay me what I make here at the hospital. 40 hours a week, though she would most likely only work 3 days a week after she was "settled." They offered paid vacations, coverage for maternity leave, and offered to help pay for COBRA until the baby was born. What am I, stupid? Of course I'll do it! She interviews with the job on August 14. She says there will probably be a couple of interviews and she expects to start (as long as the situation works for EVERYONE) by the end of September early October. WOOT! Please keep me in your thoughts and hope that she ends up with this job. It would get me out of this hell hole AND I'd be able to continue working WITH my baby after s/he is born, which would be a definite bonus!
Okay so I definitely need to do a bit of catching up. It seems I only whine about how sick I've been, but I'm feeling a ton better. Morning sickness is almost definitely gone (knock on wood.) I look pregnant and feel a bit better. Since the beginning of the pregnancy I've lost 15 pounds! Wow. No wonder people keep telling me I look thinner pregnant! My arms and thighs and even belly look thinner, except for the part of my belly that my uterus is growing in to. Did that make sense? I'll post a picture sometime soon. :)

The trip was a lot of fun though we did a TON of driving. We loved being in our new car though, and it was fun to have Ella, my puppy, with us. We started off Friday by heading to Kansas City, MO to see E's aunt. She took us to a place called the Golden Ox. It was quite pricey (gotta love her for paying!) at about $25 a plate, but it sincerely was an awesome steak. Baby and I quite enjoyed the ENTIRE meal. We headed that night to see his grandma and stay there. I love Nadine to pieces, she speaks her mind and is hilarious! She is in kidney failure and goes to dialysis three times a week, and I was glad to visit with her since she hasn't been well lately.

Saturday we took Nadine for a ride in the car. She doesn't really get out much, just to go to and from dialysis, so she loved it. She showed us her properties. Her husband and her were quite successful and she owns quite a bit of land IMHO. Erich and I have many times discussed how the land will be divided out and such. Obviously Nadine is in this for the long haul, and though quite sick, doesn't show signs of giving up any time soon. And we obviously don't want her to die it's just one of those things that are always in the back of your mind. Anyways, the land would go to his parents and aunt first (we think.) There is some talk of it going straight to us (the grandkids) but who knows! We did go to Sonic that day. I had been craving it but the closest Sonic to Nadines house was a half an hour away, so we had decided (in our telepathic communication) that we wouldn't go and I could just wait till one came along the way, but Nadine piped up that she wanted a cherry limeade (hahaha) so we had to go.

After Sonic, we dropped Nadine off, said our goodbyes and headed to the other Grandmas in Dixon, MO. We were there way before dinner which generally sucks because it is just as boring there as it is here at work. Dinner was fabulous though, I'm not sure if it was just because baby and myself were so hungry or that it actually was good. We had pot roast, baked potatoes, sweet carrots, and green beans from the garden. Not to forget the homeade dinner rolls and three different kinds of pies! We spent that night looking at family trees and discussing girls names. I really like the name Madeline which comes from Magdelana of the bible. There are at least 2 Magdelenas in the family line, so I could win that debate over Madeline, though Magdelena is growing on me now since it has a Spanish flair to it also. Though we are pretty sure in our guts that this is a boy, but we could be wrong! We'll find out in September at 20 weeks!

We left Grandma on Sunday early AM. We ate lunch at Lamberts Cafe : Home of the Throwed Rolls We had a 45 minute wait at 1130am but it was worth it. All you can eat everything. And of course there were throwed rolls from across the room, the first one hit me smack dab in the forehead, priceless huh?

We left Lamberts throughly stuffed and headed to Nashville, TN and checked in to our hotel. We wandered around Nashville and visited the Grand Ole Opry much to my delight. It was big and beautiful and I swore I'd be back to sing there someday, ha!

Monday we left for my Nanas house. She lives on a lake in Sharps Chapel, TN. The lake is Norris Lake. The lake is truly beautiful and a sparkling emerald green. We had time for a boat ride before an evil storm came in and took away our fantasy's of swimming. Ella seemed to enjoy the boat ride though.

That night we headed to Lexington, KY to stay in another motel. Tuesday we took our time getting home and just lazied around. My cousin Matt from CA was in town and visited with us that evening. It was great to get away from home, we just wish we had had more time!

I really, truly hate work. I have to tell you all about a job offer on the horizon that would be oh so wonderful! More on that later. Going to read some more blogs. :)

I've got beef cooking in the crock pot. I will add noodles before I go to bed and we'll have beef and noodles tomorrow. Yum.. my favorite. Is it wrong to eat beef noodles in the morning for breakfast? I think now for dinner, I'm going to make hamburger helper beef stroganoff. Another favorite of mine. It's been at least 12 hours since I have puked last. My appetite is strong, I may take some phenegran right before I eat just in case . Saturday I will be 14 weeks~ yahoo! Maybe I will be one of those lucky duckys who start to feel quickening around 15 weeks. Oh and I just think that Rachel is the coolest most awesomest girlie ever, don't you?
